13th May 2005 - Personal Care and Cosmetics Induction heat sealing containers prior to the capping operation is now possible with the FCS system from Relco UK Ltd. The machinery uses reel stock foil cutting and sealing it in place in one operation. This has many advantages for the cosmetics industry including the cost effective replacement of a ‘shive’ and giving the extra benefit of tamper evidence and an oxygen barrier. The foil used can be plain aluminium or in a range of highly attractive finishes that can be printed. A unique tab system is also available that gives the end user an easy peel and the foil is removed in one piece without residue on the container. Applying the closure after the sealing also allows the use of standard re-seal liners for added re-seal once the pack has been opened. Many companies are using this technology including two major cosmetic companies with installations in Paris, Ireland, Mexico and Poland. The equipment is available in a variety of formats for various outputs and is also available in manual and semi-automatic formats. Customers samples can be sealed at Relco’s research and development facility for evaluation and consumer trials before committing to production equipment. |
